Christian Center began in 1967 as an outreach of the Foursquare Fellowship under Mildred Wilder. It was located in an office building on the corner of Pierson Blvd and Palm Drive, and was the only Full Gospel church in the city. A few years later, under the leadership of Rev. Jimmy Lind, Christian Center associated with the Assemblies of God.
In 1975, the church relocated to Morongo and Pierson in what is today the Condor Gun Shop. We were known as "The Singing Church." Through generous giving of the church body, Rev. Keith Abraham oversaw the sale of the Condor site and the building of the church in its current location.
Through the faithful diligence of the membership, the church facility, parsonage in Mission Lakes Country Club, and two additional vacant lots on the east side of the church site have all been paid for.
Because of a tremendous blessing from the Lord, we were able to recently purchase 9.55 acres on Little Morongo for only $90,000. Drive down Little Morongo and check out the future location of Christian Center that the good Lord has blessed us with.
We thank those pastors, past and present, whose hard work has brought us to where we stand today: Jim Gutel, Charles Beadle, Dave Helbling, Tim Heath and Gary Geesey.
We invite you to become a part of the church today and a piece of its history tomorrow. Visit Our Vision page to learn more about Building Today for a Greater Tomorrow. |
